Profhilo, Sculptra, Radiesse: three biostimulators that work differently and for different patients. The key is not which to use, but when and for whom.
Biostimulation is the set of techniques that induce your skin to produce collagen, elastin and new matrix. They do not add volume from outside — like fillers — but stimulate tissue to rebuild itself from within.
It makes sense in patients seeking to improve overall skin quality rather than correct a specific area. In skin with incipient laxity, loss of general facial "tone", or accumulated sun damage. A technique that combines well with almost everything: in many plans it is the base upon which specific retouches are then placed.
Profhilo: hybrid hyaluronic acid of high and low density, non-cross-linked. Deep hydrating effect and light biostimulator. Ideal at the first signs of skin quality loss (patients 30–45), in neck and décolletage, and as a "gateway" into aesthetic medicine.
Sculptra: poly-L-lactic acid. Deeper and longer collagen stimulation (up to 2 years). Ideal in patients 40+ with global volume loss and lack of support. Radiesse: calcium hydroxyapatite. Dual effect — immediate volume and progressive biostimulation. Ideal for contour definition in patients with structural support loss. The choice responds to clinical indication, not personal preference.
In consultation I assess what type of biostimulation makes sense for your case. Often the answer is a combination with other techniques, not a biostimulator alone.
Protocols vary: Profhilo requires 2 sessions spaced 1 month, with maintenance every 6 months; Sculptra usually needs 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks; Radiesse can be a single session with annual retouch. Each session lasts 30–45 minutes with topical anaesthetic.
The result is gradual and cumulative. With Profhilo you will see more hydrated and luminous skin from the 2nd session; with Sculptra structural improvement appears from the 2nd–3rd month; with Radiesse you see an immediate change that continues improving for 6 months.
Duration: Profhilo 6–9 months; Sculptra up to 2 years; Radiesse 12–18 months. What a biostimulator never does is change your face. It gives better-quality tissue, with more collagen and elasticity, but the result is still you.
When expectation is an immediate change or point-specific volume increase (lips, chin). Here the indication is hyaluronic acid, not biostimulator.
When laxity is too advanced. Biostimulators have a ceiling; in marked laxity the right answer can be tensor threads, CO₂ laser or surgery. When proposed as an automatic response to "look younger" without diagnosis. Biostimulation is a tool, not a slogan.
Profhilo is hybrid hyaluronic acid: deeply hydrates and biostimulates lightly; ideal at first signs of skin quality loss. Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid: much deeper and longer collagen stimulation (up to 2 years); ideal in patients 40+ with global volume loss.
Depends on the product: Profhilo 6–9 months; Sculptra up to 2 years; Radiesse 12–18 months. All allow and benefit from scheduled maintenance.
Yes, and often it is the best strategy. Biostimulation improves the tissue base; hyaluronic acid corrects specific points; toxin relaxes hyperactive muscles. Each technique does something different and they are not substitutes.
It shouldn't. A well-indicated biostimulator improves tissue quality and density without changing anatomy. If you notice a shape change, it was used as a filler and not as a biostimulator.
Regeneration of the dermal structure, working the skin from within, across several levels.
Cellular regeneration and improved skin elasticity via purified DNA fragments.
Deep hydration and luminosity with microinjections of active ingredients, session by session.
Book your medical assessment and we will discuss together whether this treatment makes sense for you — or whether another option is a better fit for your case.
